Toppers World Tour 2022: Punching In

Hey Toppers Nation!

We all know we have something special at Toppers.  This isn’t a job; it’s a way of life.  It’s a family, it’s purpose.

In the last 2 years, while the world has been having various meltdowns and most restaurants have either quit or half quit, Toppers Nation did what we always do:  kicked major ass and didn’t take “no” for an answer.  Our brand is stronger and more successful than ever in our history.

And our culture and many of our people and teams have been stress-tested.  Many say it’s harder than ever (harder than we think) and many have said that that we’re not as connected as we were before the pandemic.

I bleed pizza sauce (toppers recipe).  I worked nights (see the sunrise at the end of the day) and weekends solid for 12+ years.  When someone says “you don’t understand what it’s really like in the stores anymore”, I know one thing:  it’s time to get into the stores and listen.

And to celebrate our people, and our industry, and our success,

To break bread (topperstix) with friends and share good stories,

To take tons of pictures and video,

To give out tee shirts, and pins, and helmets, and who-knows what,

And to clean a bathroom or two and roll a doughball or two.

Robin and I are doing a monumental store tour:  All 70 stores in 70 days.  (actually there better be 71 or 72 by the time we finish).  We’re punching in for 10 weeks!

MARCH 14 KICKOFF

We will start and end in Wisconsin.  In week one we will be in central and western Wisconsin.  In week 2 and 3 we will be all over Minnesota.  Week 4 we’re going from South Dakota to Texas, via Nebraska and Kansas.  Then off to Bill in the Carolinas and our Virginia friends before heading back to the Midwest.  Cincy, Indy, Michigan, and then back to all those stores on the East side of Wisconsin in weeks 9 and 10:  Kenosha, Green Bay and Milwaukee baby!  Last but not least Madison and Whitewater will round out the visits.

We’re coming to you.  We will contact you in advance so you know when we’re coming and to set up Town Halls, dinners, meetings, LSM activities, etc.  In next week’s Word we will tell you how you can follow us on our journey.

Love to all of you.  See you out there.

Scott and Robin

Scott Gittrich

Scott’s unwavering affection for pizza became a full-fledged love affair when he decided to drop out of college to focus on a career at Domino’s after only two weeks on the job. The gamble paid off as he worked his way up through the company’s system. He stayed focused on having a successful career in the restaurant industry and he decided to create a pizza concept, Toppers Pizza, which delivered unique, fresh food made from scratch that rivaled anything available. Pizza is the best food in the world, there’s nothing that’s as celebratory and fun as pizza. It brings people together like no other product on earth.

Come on to Fort Mill! I’ve known Bill and family since the 80s. He is a quiet pillar of the community that is loved and respected. No wonder Toppers is a home and school staple with this type leadership.
