I’m Celebrating 4/20 Whether You Like It or Not

There are a few haters out there that are calling me and Toppers out for celebrating 4/20 every year.  One customer said that she thinks we are working against her good mothering by condoning pot smoking and she doesn’t like it.

I understand the sentiment I suppose.  But if people want to drink alcohol or smoke weed, it’s my job to feed them pizza, not convince them they could make healthier choices!

Pizza is a celebration food and a celebration business!  I realized very early in my pizza career how fun our business is because we bring the party.  I have always loved being the “pizza guy”, because it’s such a fun idea and a fun role in the world.  Would you rather be the accountant or me on your kids’ career day?  I feel sorry for the accountant, because the pizza guy wins every day.  We are universally loved for the fun we represent.

What do kids love to eat on their birthday?  Pizza!

When companies celebrate, what do they order for their company lunch?  Pizza!

Hell, how do you celebrate that it’s the weekend?  Pizza!

New Year’s Eve is a well-known day for many people to celebrate by drinking alcohol and maybe even getting drunk.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the mom who complained to us partakes on New Year’s Eve, right?  Well, at Toppers we celebrate New Year’s Eve in high style.  We promote and prepare and we turn up the radio and work until 4 or 5 AM!!  It’s what we do and not only am I not apologizing for it; I’m here to tell you that we’re proud of what we do and how we do it.

Just like the balloon makers and the people who make champagne glasses, we have a place in the world.  We serve our customers.  If our customers smoke weed, then we want to make sure they’re satisfying those munchies with some legit food delivered from Toppers.

I don’t get stoned anymore, but I’m betting that our Buffalo Chicken pizza or our Loaded Tater Mac ‘N Cheese is at least as good stoned as it is clear-headed.  Ha!

Bottom line:  If people are celebrating by shooting off fireworks, wearing green shamrocks, blowing out candles, watching a ball drop, watching the Super Bowl, drinking alcohol, smoking pot, or any other dang thing they do to celebrate … we are here to help them party!

Some people are just too sensitive.  I want everyone’s business, but we’re not gonna get it anyway.  We prefer to cater to the people who let their hair down and celebrate life.  Can’t let the haters run your life.

Party on,

Scott

Scott’s unwavering affection for pizza became a full-fledged love affair when he decided to drop out of college to focus on a career at Domino’s after only two weeks on the job. The gamble paid off as he worked his way up through the company’s system. He stayed focused on having a successful career in the restaurant industry and he decided to create a pizza concept, Toppers Pizza, which delivered unique, fresh food made from scratch that rivaled anything available. Pizza is the best food in the world, there’s nothing that’s as celebratory and fun as pizza. It brings people together like no other product on earth.

If you raise your children properly, they shouldn’t be swayed by a pizza promotion. Happy 4-20 Scott.
