My crack staff and I have spent the last several weeks working through our nominees. I’m proud to announce my picks for this years Oscars. Drum Roll please….
BEST PICTURE: Toppers Pizza kicking the competition’s butt
Hands down my favorite picture: a new franchisee opening their first store to lines down the street. As Toppers embarks on its mission to partner with experienced restaurant operators and successful multi-unit franchisees to fuel growth in 2016, the plot of this picture unfolds with our tenacious attitude paying off in a big way during 2015.
Backed by Strong Franchise System, Toppers Pizza Steals Market Share; Plans Industry Domination
BEST DIRECTOR: toppers.com
While 70-yeard old veteran, George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road), is seemingly leading the race with some pundits, by far the Best Director is our bad-ass online ordering site: toppers.com , which directs more than a hundred thousand pizza orders to our franchisees’ restaurants every month! Much like an exciting high-speed chase, you can order swiftly from any device anytime your hunger is in a fury.
BEST ACTOR: Mac Malchow
Toppers Franchise Development Associate, Mac Malchow, stepped up into the spotlight this year to let franchise prospects discover the ins and outs of a Toppers store and get a behind-the-scenes look at what’s made us one of the fastest growing pizza chains in the country.
Sorry, Leo, looks like you better keep playing Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage.
BEST ACTRESS: Holly Fields
Toppers kick ass General Manager in Indianapolis brought her A-Game performance to the table, cutting through the competition, while dissing the big chains. Holly Fields is a natural on the screen and bring fierce completion with her delivery!
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE: You Know It, starring Lisa Leone
Toppers Team Member, Lisa Leone, proves her passion for pizza daily in her role as General Manager. In this short animated feature, “You Know It”, Lisa grabs her pizza cutter and drops the mic.
BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM: Pizza Hut and quality
Pizza Hut CEO: “Skip the quality and focus on convenience”
Pizza Hut is Disrespecting Pizza with their new stated approach to the pizza business. The universal language of pizza is one of cheesy love and goodness…and Pizza Hut is speaking another language. Not making, baking, and taking quality pizza is a language Toppers Franchisees, Team Members, and Support Staff don’t speak.
We focus on quality AND convenience. Everyone that works for Toppers Pizza, whether it’s a delivery driver, store manager or Team Member shares the same drive to ‘Never Settle’ and we aren’t messing around when we say that.
BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE: #LegalizeCheese
“Amy” is predicted to ride its box office success to Oscar Gold, but we’re going with this interesting documentary on how #LegalizeCheese was born amidst the 2015 NFC Championship. It all started when the shot heard ’round the nation was declared when Bainbridge Island, a small township in Washington’s Kitsap County, issued an executive order banning cheese possession and consumption.
Toppers is renowned for using real Wisconsin cheese prompted cheeseheads to rise up, gaining national attention.
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Flour Fight Night
Toppers “Flour Fight Night” in the home of Toppers World Headquarters, Whitewater, WI. Anticipation for college kids to rip open bags of flour under the sunset at the Starin Park Pavilion may knock possible three-peat contender Emmanuel Lubezki (“The Revenant”) out of the running.
BEST ORIGINAL SONG: Order Some Toppers Yea
“Order Some Toppers Yea” – by Toppers Team Member Terrance Cooper. While “Earned It” seems to be a popular pick – it’s clear that Terrance has “owned it” with this original song.
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS: 3-Cheese Garlicstix
This year’s summer blockbuster, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” may seem like a frontrunner, but it is easily blown away by the tantalizing visual effects of Toppers new 3-Cheese Garlicstix. Loaded with more cheese and garlic than ever, these mouth-watering ‘stix will leave you wishing for an immediate sequel.
3-Cheese Garlicstix are new, here and so awesomely…
Grab some popcorn (or a pizza) and get ready to sit through some acceptance speeches this Sunday night as Chris Rock hosts the 88th Academy Awards. Feel free to comment on your picks!
